Possessing a rich history and numerous accolades, it is no wonder that the Singapore Botanical Gardens (SBG) is Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. It follows after the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew as the third botanic gardens and first tropical gardens on the heritage list. Spanning across 60 acres of themed gardens and landmarks, SBG is also the heart of Singapore’s transformation into a Garden City.
Do not miss out on the world’s largest orchid display at the National Orchid Garden where you can also catch a glimpse of Singapore’s national flower, “Vanda Miss Joaquim”. Visitors can also have a picnic with their family and friends on the lush greenery in the Botanic Gardens. At the Jacob Ballas Children’s garden, children can play and learn all about plant life. There is also a slew of restaurants and cafes available to satisfy any hunger pangs while exploring the gardens.
Visit in the early morning and enjoy brunch in the lovely settings or late afternoons for cooler weather. Remember to bring your hat/cap, sunshades, some mosquito repellent and comfortable shoe for your day out at SBG!
