The Singapore River is more than just a stream coursing through the very heart of the city-state. It represents the origins, history, and identity of modern Singapore. 

After a 10-year clean-up programme in 1977, the severely polluted river began its transformation to a vibrant waterway that carries three different identities in the three quays – Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay. 

Boat Quay offers a splendid variety of restaurants and bars amidst the skyscrapers, where you can take a break from exploring the city, or simply relax and take in the vibe. If you prefer to dance your shoes away, then head to Clarke Quay, Singapore’s party central. There is a wide selection of music genres and styles that you can groove to. Or you can mellow down with a steaming cup of at the quieter Robertson Quay, which hosts trendy cafes.
